  • How should I store my cake?
    If you're picking up your cake, transport it in a cool, air-conditioned vehicle away from any loose objects. Keep the box level at all times and always store it upright. When you arrive at your destination, store the cake in the box in the fridge. Try to keep it away from direct sunlight, moisture and heat when not in the fridge. Take the cake out of the fridge 30 minutes before serving and serve at room temperature. And remember, pick up and carry your cake box from the bottom only!
  • How should I cut the cake?
    The honest answer is it's completely up to you! We personally like to abide by the Quality Cake Company's guidelines on how to cut a round cake.
  • How long will my cake last?
    Our buttercream cakes will last for 3-4 days in the fridge if kept in an airtight container, or for up to 4 months in the freezer. To freeze your cake, wrap well in cling wrap, either whole or by the slice, and place it in an airtight plastic container or airtight resealable bag. Cakes with cream and fruit will last 1-2 days and should not be frozen.
  • Do you offer delivery?
    Yes we do! Delivery is available for a flat rate of $10 within 10km of the Adelaide CBD. For all other locations, get in touch with us via hello@takethecake.net.
  • Do you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?
    While we're unable to cater to all dietary requirements, we take food allergies very seriously. It's important to know that our cakes do contain some common allergens include eggs, dairy, wheat and gluten. You can view the full list of ingredients used in our products, which is updated regularly. We can offer gluten free options at an additional cost. Just let us know when you fill out our enquiry form.
  • How do I order?
    Ordering a cake from us is easy. Simply follow these steps: Fill out our contact form to let us know what cake you'd like and when you need it We'll get back to you with a quote in 12-24 hours Once you're happy with all of the details, we send an invoice with payment details You sit back and relax while we start baking!
  • What size cake should I get?
    Depending on the style of cake, we can offer sizes anywhere from 6" to 10" to suit your needs. A rough serving guide is as follows, assuming pieces are 1" x 2": • 6" serves up to 12 people • 8" serves up to 20 people • 10" serves up to 40 people
  • How much notice is required?
    We recommend booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment. A minimum of 3 weeks' notice is required for all cake orders and 1 weeks' notice for brownie orders.
  • What happens if I need to cancel my order?
    If you need to cancel an order, we recommend contacting us to choose a new pick up or delivery date to avoid losing any money. Refunds are available if orders are cancelled within 7 days of pick up/delivery, excluding your deposit. Unfortunately, orders that are cancelled within 4 days of pick up must be paid in full. By this time, all materials for the cake have been paid for and the cake has been baked.
  • Can I order a custom cake?
    While we generally stick to making the cakes shown on site, if enough notice is given, we would be happy to discuss a custom order with you! Get in touch with us via hello@takethecake.net and we'll see what we can do.
  • What payment options are available?
    Payment can be made securely online via credit or debit card. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
